My name is Erin and I am pleased to be a member of the HCWC team. I grew up in a rural farming community, where I worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor. I went to Brock University for my Bachelor of Education and went on to take Special Education and some sign language courses. After spending some time in the school system, I began working as a support worker in group homes with clients of various ages and a wide range of abilities. I also provided respite care for families in their home or by taking clients out to socialize and be active in their communities. I have seen the positive impact having reliable, client-led support has on the individual and their family. It is rewarding to know I can make someone's day feel less stressful and bring happiness to others. I enjoy swimming, reading, puzzles and spending time with my kids and our dog.
